If you are buying pressure-treated lumber for a deck, keep in mind that they have probably been injected with powerful pesticides, which contain arsenic & chromium, to prevent rot & infestation.  Ask before you buy!  Enquire about CA-B pressure treated lumber or the other option is Brazilian Walnut, or Ipe.  It is one of the densest exotic flooring options that is also long lasting and rot-resistant.  It also comes as one of the darkest & most distinguished looking colours of imported hardwood.  It’s a great choice for decks because it is low-maintenance, durable and doesn’t come with the problems often associated with composite & cheaper decking.  You’ll often find Ipe in commercial applications as boardwalks, piers, docks, & outdoor benches due to its durability.
